Summary
We at The Influencer Marketing Factory love TikTok and after working on several influencer marketing campaigns, we decided to interview 5 different TikTok content creator and ask them why are they on this fast-growing app, why is different from other social media and how do they see it changing in the next 6 months.

Why are you on Tik Tok?
Funny story, my coworker from when I used to work at restaurant told me I should download the app Musical.ly because she knew I was trying to push more DJ type videos, and I was like “no way that’s for kids”, but then I sucked it up and got it and started posting, when I saw one of my DJ mixing videos really took off, I knew I had to keep posting! Then the app changed to Tik Tok and then from there I just started to grow and grow and grow! I had realized I was in an untapped market on the app, no one was posting videos like me and people seemed to love it!
Do you think Tik Tok is different from other social media? If so, why?
I’ve always thought it was very similar to Vine in the way that how it blew up, but bigger! Also, the content is pretty similar, but Tik Tok I feel has more to offer and by more to offer I mean, you can add music and effects right through the app which makes it great for easy and fast to make content!
What do you think will happen in the next 6 months for Tik Tok?
You know Tik Tok had a great first year, the app has grown immensely, I would hope it will be growing and still be kicking in the next six months or I lost a place to post content 😂
Do you like the Tik Tok community?
I really do actually, since the app is still new a lot of the creators are just normal people who post content, there are not many big-headed people on the app. I’ve talked to many creators with big followings and small followings and they’re very down to earth, nice people.

Why are you on TikTok?
I’m on TikTok because I like using my creative side every day. Dance is a huge passion of mine and it’s amazing that I can now share that will so many people all over the world. The opportunity on TikTok is endless.
Do you think TikTok is different from other social media? If so, why?
Yes, I think it’s a lot different. I find that I can be more of myself on TikTok posting funny videos that show my personality. It’s just a friendly and welcoming environment.
What do you think will happen to TikTok in the next 6 months?
I really think this is just the beginning for TikTok. I think more and more people will continue to join and post videos. There’s room for everyone on this app. I also see advertisements for TiKTok on all the other apps I use so I think more people will be drawn in that way.
Do you like the TikTok community? Which are the pros and cons?
I love the TikTok community! One of my really good friends, Lily Harret I met through TikTok. We are both dancers and got together to film together and hangout. I think pros are you do meet such amazing and creative people through this app. I think a con is there’s no longer the featured page. It’s the for you page now. I personally liked the featured page better. However, the app is growing and changing and the users will grow and change with it. Change is good for everyone!

Why are you on Tik Tok?
We are on Tiktok for fun. We have a great time laughing at ourselves all the time and this platform gives us an opportunity to share that with others.
Do you think TikTok is different from other social media? If so, why?
TikTok is very unique in its style. Trends you see on TikTok are often not seen on other platforms unless they are reposted from TikTok. It has its own unique audiences, styles, music and that is something that sets it apart from the rest.
What do you think will happen to TikTok in the next 6 months?
It’s very hard to say where TikTok will be in 6 months but as the user base continues to increase, I don’t think we’ll be seeing it slow down any time soon.
Do you like the TikTok community? Which are the pros and cons?
Of course, we like the Tiktok community! To have half a million followers/supporters in just a few months has really blown us away. Users have been very supportive and let us know how much they enjoy the content and that is a great feeling.
Of course, as with any channel with that much reach, there will be negative comments but that is to be expected and you’ll often find the supporters calling out these comments to defend the creator.

1. Why are you on TikTok?
At first, I joined because I had musically years ago and my friends told me I should continue to do them because they liked them. I had always planned on creating a new account to try again because I wanted to at least hit 1000 followers. So I created a new account and realized TikTok was a lot different than musically so I had to change my approach to videos with comedy. Now I’m on here to inspire people with my videos and hopefully motivate them to use their creative minds as well
2. Do you think TikTok is different from other social media? If so, why?
I do believe TikTok is somewhat different than other social media simply because it’s easier for people to see how creative or artistic you can actually be. Other platforms don’t really give that chance but with TikTok having a “foryou” page people get to see the types of videos they like created by small or big accounts.
3. What do you think will happen to TikTok in the next 6 months?
I think TikTok will actually grow in the next 6 months. Its audience is getting bigger and more and more people are downloading the app and coming up with new ideas daily. If TikTok continues to provide opportunities for people then the app will only grow in the future.
